Build on sim.zip: the Agentic API, MCP, and the Affiliates API
Everything a human can do on sim.zip, your code can do too. The store now ships three ways in: a REST API built for agents, an MCP server any AI assistant can connect to, and read-only feeds built for affiliates. All three are documented, with schemas and try-it-out, at sim.zip/dev.
The Agentic API
A plain REST API at /api/v1 — and it needs no API key. The catalogue is
public, and an order only matters once the buyer pays at its payment_url, so the
API can be as open as the store itself. The flow is four calls:
- list the destinations, or the multi-country regions;
- get a destination's plans with sizes, validity and prices;
- create an order with a plan id and the buyer's email — the answer carries a
payment_url; - poll the order until it says delivered, activation codes included.
The full reference with request and response schemas lives at sim.zip/dev/api.
MCP, for AI assistants
The same operations are tools on a Model Context Protocol server at sim.zip/mcp —
point Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or any MCP client at it and your assistant can look up plans,
create the order and hand its human the payment link. The human always makes the payment; the
agent never touches a card. Connection guides for each assistant are at
sim.zip/dev/mcp.
The Affiliates API
Comparison sites and partners get the whole catalogue as two read-only feeds: every plan on sale with prices in USD, GBP and EUR, and one store link per destination — each link carrying your affiliate code. The feeds are open to try without a code, so you can integrate and test before registering; without a code the links simply carry no attribution. Schemas and live try-it-out: the Affiliates API reference.
How affiliates earn
Two models, pick whichever fits how you work:
- 10% commission. Send buyers to sim.zip through links carrying your code — from the feeds, or just your referral link. Every order placed through them is credited to you, and we pay 10% of the sale.
- Direct resell. Create orders through the API for your own customers and share the
sim.zip/paylink the API returns — your customer pays there with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the eSIM QR lands in their inbox within seconds. No stock, no float, no fulfilment: you sell, sim.zip delivers instantly.
